Pretty Girl Makeup CEO Christina Flach eyebrow grooming dos and donts guide featuring brow scissors tweezers and models with perfectly groomed eyebrows

Perfect brows don't happen by accident — Pretty Girl Makeup CEO and celebrity makeup artist Christina Flach shares her complete eyebrow do's and don'ts guide for flawless results every time.

Perfect brows don’t happen by accident — they happen with the right tools, the right technique, and a little patience. Pretty Girl Makeup CEO, NBC California Live beauty expert, and I’m Too Busy Podcast host Christina Flach shares her complete do’s and don’ts guide to brow grooming that will transform your look from the moment you pick up a tweezer.

DO: Set Up Your Space Correctly

Always work in a well-lit room with a full mirror — never a hand mirror. You need to see both brows at all times to ensure symmetry. And give your brows the attention they deserve — no distractions.

DO: Start Warm

Before touching your brows, take a warm shower or apply a warm washcloth to your face. Warm skin means open pores, which means significantly less pain. Morning is the best time — the light is at its peak and you’re less likely to make a tired mistake at the end of a long day. Make sure your skin is completely free of product, oil, or cream before you start. A good micellar water is Christina’s recommendation.

DO: Make a Plan

Place your index finger between your brows and use a white eyeliner pencil to draw a line on each side and outline your intended shape. Color in the stray hairs you want to remove — this makes it much easier to identify exactly what needs to go. Then use a Medium Slant Tweezer for the main work and a Point Tweezer for those micro-tiny hairs.

DO: Brush Up and Cut Tops

Using a Spoolie brush, brush your brows upward. While holding the Spoolie in place, use small scissors to trim the longest hairs a few at a time. Scan continuously from left to right to check for symmetry. You want natural and even — not buzzed.

DO: Finish With a Touch Up Razor

Christina is obsessed with the Japonesque Pro Performance Touch Up Razor as a final step. Use it to clean up peach fuzz and unwanted hair around the brows and lip area — not to pluck brow hairs. It leaves skin looking completely flawless and debunks the old myth that shaving facial hair makes it grow back thicker and darker.

DO: Fill In Your Brows

Everyone needs to fill in their brows — even perfectly waxed ones. A subtle fill with a brow pencil or shadow matching your natural color frames the eyes, makes them look bigger and brighter, and takes years off your face.

DO: Clean Your Tools

Always clean your tweezers and scissors with soap and water after each use. Apply aloe vera or ice to the surrounding area afterward to reduce any swelling or irritation.DON’T: Pluck More Than One Hair at a Time

This is where most brow disasters begin. Take it slow — one hair at a time — and always refer back to your plan.

DON’T: Panic About Imperfection

No one’s brows are perfectly symmetrical — not even celebrities. Your job isn’t to make them identical, it’s to create the beautiful illusion that they are.
