Berry Blush Draping: The Makeup Trend Everyone’s Wearing
Christina Flach’s Berry Blush Draping feature in Women Fitness Magazine
If you’re looking for one makeup trend that’s fresh, flattering, and instantly makes your skin look healthier, let me introduce you to berry blush draping, from my latest article in Women Fitness Magazine.
I see so many beauty trends come and go, and I’ll be honest — a lot of them make me roll my eyes. They’re either not practical for everyday life or so time-consuming you’ll never actually keep up with them. Berry blush draping is different. It’s simple, it’s buildable, and it works on every skin tone.
The technique is all about “draping” a berry-toned blush along the higher points of your face — the cheekbones, up toward the temples, and even lightly across the bridge of the nose — rather than just applying color to the apples of your cheeks. Berry tones (think deep rose, plum, and raspberry) give a richer, more sculpted flush than traditional pinks or peaches, and they photograph beautifully.
What I love about this technique for my clients across San Francisco, Marin, Napa, and Silicon Valley is how versatile it is. Whether you’re getting ready for a red carpet moment or just want a healthy, done-in-five-minutes glow for your day, berry blush draping delivers.
A few tips from my kit: use a fluffy brush, build the color in light layers, and blend upward and outward toward your hairline for the most natural, lifted effect.
