Christina Flach on The Social Focus Podcast
I had the honor of being featured on The Social Focus Podcast, hosted by Angela Doyon and Nat Caron. It was one of my favorite interviews because we got real, went deep, and I shared stories I don’t always tell publicly.
My journey in the makeup industry started with my mother. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she asked me to do her makeup one evening — she wanted to feel her best for a date with my father. That experience sparked my love for helping others feel like the best version of themselves, and it still drives everything I do today
From Celebrity Chair to E-Commerce
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible list of celebrities — Tyler Florence, Metallica, Journey, Rita Moreno, and many more. But I was quick to share that success didn’t come overnight. Just like so many entrepreneurs and small business owners, it takes time to see your hard work pay off.
That journey eventually led me to founding Pretty Girl Makeup — born out of a real problem I faced as a busy makeup artist and mom. I needed a lip gloss that actually lasted through my packed days. When I couldn’t find one, I created it myself.
Lessons from the Episode
Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:
• Know the problem in your industry and find a solution
• People are willing to help you — don’t be afraid to ask
• Fill yourself up first in order to create more balance in your life
• Life is short — find what you love and lead with passion
Sepsis Awareness
During the episode I also shared the story of losing my husband Ken Flach to Sepsis in 2018. Since then I have been a passionate advocate for spreading awareness about this life-threatening response to infection. Please visit www.sepsis.org to learn the signs and how to protect yourself and your loved ones.
