Grow Your Glow:DIY Skincare From the Garden

Grow Your Glow DIY skincare ingredients by Christina Flach celebrity makeup artist San Francisco Bay Area

Rice water toner, wheat grass eye treatment, and honey-turmeric face mask — this week’s Grow Your Glow DIY skincare lineup.

Some of my favorite beauty treatments aren’t sitting on a shelf at Sephora — they’re already in the kitchen. 😂 And honestly, I love that.

Long before “clean beauty” became a marketing term, women were using simple ingredients from their kitchens and gardens as part of their beauty routines. On this week’s episode of I’m Too Busy TV, I’m sharing three of my favorites — easy, inexpensive, and you probably already have at least one of them at home.

Rice Water Toner

Rice water has been used in Asian beauty rituals for generations, and it’s one of those wonderfully simple beauty tricks I keep coming back to.

In the episode, I show you exactly how I make my rice water toner and how I incorporate it into my nighttime routine. It’s gentle, refreshing, and such an easy addition when you want your skin to look fresh and healthy without adding another expensive product to your bathroom counter.

Wheatgrass Eye Treatment

Yes, wheatgrass. And no, we’re not putting it in a smoothie this time. 😂

The skin around our eyes is so delicate, and it’s usually one of the first places we notice when we’re tired, dehydrated, or simply haven’t gotten enough sleep. Wheatgrass contains antioxidants, and I’ll show you the simple way I use it as a DIY eye treatment.

Because sometimes you need a little help looking like you slept eight hours when you absolutely did not.

Honey + Turmeric Face Mask

This might be my favorite of the three.

Honey and turmeric have been used in beauty rituals forever, and together they make such a simple at-home mask. I love doing this when my skin is looking a little tired or when I want it to look fresh before an event, photoshoot, or night out.

It takes about five minutes — which, if you know me, is exactly my kind of beauty treatment. I’m too busy for anything complicated.

And that’s really the point.

You do not need a 10-step skincare routine or a bathroom cabinet overflowing with products to take care of your skin. Sometimes beauty really can be simple — and some of the best inspiration has been passed down for generations.

I walk you through all three treatments and show you exactly how I use them.
