Mocha Mousse Makeup: The Color Trend Day to Night
Mocha Mousse day to night eye makeup look with mocha eyeshadow palette, lip liner, gloss, and chocolate brown mascara by Christina Flach.
Mocha Mousse is everywhere right now, and I completely understand why. It’s warm, sophisticated, incredibly wearable, and one of those colors that looks beautiful on every skin tone and at every age.
And you know I love a beauty trend that you can actually wear in real life. 😂
You don’t need to buy an entirely new makeup bag or suddenly dress head-to-toe in brown. A few little touches of mocha can completely update your makeup, hair, nails and wardrobe.
So… Isn’t Mocha Mousse Just Brown?
I get this question, and it’s a good one.
Mocha Mousse isn’t just brown. Think creamy coffee, chocolate, caramel, rose gold and those beautiful warm neutrals that somehow make everything look a little softer and more expensive.
And it is EVERYWHERE. Makeup, hair, fashion, interiors—even car colors.
What I really love about it is how easy it is to incorporate into things you already own. Pair it with cream, black, peach or even a beautiful pastel and suddenly everything feels fresh again.
Daytime Mocha Mousse Makeup
For daytime, I like to keep everything soft and pretty.
Instead of reaching for black eyeliner, try chocolate brown. It defines the eyes without looking harsh, and it’s especially beautiful when you want a softer daytime look.
I also love a good neutral palette because I’m going to double dip. 😂 Use those mocha shades on your eyes, fill in your brows, soften your liner—make that palette work for you!
Add a little peachy rose through the crease and you have a gorgeous, wearable eye that doesn’t look like you tried too hard.
Take Your Mocha Mousse Makeup Into Night
This is where we turn it up just a little.
You don’t need to wash everything off and start over. Take that same daytime makeup and add a chocolate brown liquid liner, deepen the shadow on the lid and underneath the eye, and brighten the crease slightly.
That’s it.
You’ve gone from daytime to dinner without hauling your entire bathroom around in your handbag. 😂
The Little Details I Love
For lips, I love a mocha lip liner with gloss. And if you want a little more sparkle for nighttime, press the tiniest bit of gold shimmer onto the lip with your finger.
Yes, your finger. It works!
Add a little bronzer to the cheeks—and remember, bronzer isn’t just for your face. Sweep it over your arms, shoulders or legs when they’re showing. I love a product that earns its place in my makeup bag.
And please check your mascara. If it has been living in there forever, it’s time for a new one. 😂
One of my favorite tricks with this look is chocolate brown mascara. It’s softer and gentler than black and absolutely gorgeous for daytime.
Mocha Mousse Beyond Makeup
Don’t stop at your makeup.
Mocha Mousse works beautifully in hair, nails and fashion, too. I love it mixed with cream, black, peach, rose gold and pastels.
And you don’t need an entirely new wardrobe. Pick up one or two great pieces that work with clothes you already own. They’re wonderful for traveling because you can mix and match everything and still look pulled together without packing your entire closet.
That is my kind of packing. 😂
Beauty should be fun. It doesn’t need to be complicated, and it certainly doesn’t require replacing everything you already own every time a new trend comes along.
Sometimes all it takes is a chocolate brown liner, a mocha lip, a softer mascara and a few little changes to make your whole look feel fresh again.
Now tell me—which are you trying first: the mocha eye, the lip, or the chocolate brown mascara? 🤎💋
