Self-Care, Makeup & Finding Your Balance
The Christina Flach glow up is real! Celebrity makeup artist and Pretty Girl Makeup CEO Christina Flach works her magic — because every woman deserves to feel like the most beautiful version of herself.
Life gets busy — and when it does, self-care is usually the first thing to go. Pretty Girl Makeup CEO, NBC California Live beauty expert, and I’m Too Busy Podcast host Christina Flach shares her favorite ways to slow down, reset, and find your balance — one beautiful ritual at a time.
Start With Something That Makes You Happy
Christina starts her day with a hot cup of Good Earth Spice Tea — two bags for extra spice — and lights her favorite Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous candle. Scent is one of the fastest ways to shift your mood, so choose one that makes you feel amazing. Then she turns on her Sonos and blasts either spa music or Whitney Houston’s Unreleased Mixes. Music is medicine.
Give Your Skin Some Love
Put on a face mask followed by a little coconut oil if your skin is feeling dehydrated. It takes ten minutes and your skin will thank you for days.
Clean Your Makeup Brushes
This one is non-negotiable. Dirty brushes are one of the biggest causes of breakouts and uneven makeup application. Here’s Christina’s method: use Neutrogena Makeup Wipes daily, and once a week, soak them in warm water and wash with shampoo and hair conditioner. Rinse, remove excess water with a towel, and air dry. The conditioner keeps the bristles soft and your brushes will last for years.
Meditate
Christina’s current favorite is the 7-Day Chakra Balancing Meditation Series by Kama Hagar. If you’re looking for balance, alignment, and a sense of calm, this week-long series works through each energy center of the body using breathing techniques, mantras, and guided imagery. Highly recommended.
Organize Your Makeup Drawer
Start by tossing the mascara that dried up months ago — mascara needs to be replaced every three months, no exceptions. Separate your eyeshadows, pencils, blush, lip liners, lipstick, lip gloss, and concealers into clear containers so you can actually see and use everything you own. And Christina’s golden rule: if you haven’t touched a product in six months, return it, toss it, or give it to someone who will love it.
Plan a Dream Trip
Christina had a life-changing experience at The Retreat Costa Rica with her daughter Melania — and she’s already planning her return. Created by celebrity chef and wellness coach Diana Stobo, The Retreat is a transformational wellness center nestled in the Costa Rican rainforest. Heaven on earth, by all accounts.
